Ukraine U-21 (players born in 2002 and younger), led by Spaniard Unai Melgosa, started the qualifying round of the championship on 12 September with a 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland in a nominally home match in Poprad, Slovakia.

In addition to these two national teams, England, Serbia, Azerbaijan and Luxembourg are also in Group F. It is with the latter that the Blue and Yellows will meet in their next match. The game will take place on 12 October in the second most populous city of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Esch-sur-Alzette, at the Emile Mairisch Arena and will start at 19:30 local time.
