"It's only the first match, so I'm happy with the game" - Yurii Maksymov on his first match in charge of Dnipro-1

The new head coach of Dnipro-1, Yuriy Maksymov, summed up the results of today's 1-1 match with Kolos in the 7th round of the Ukrainian championship, which was his first in charge of the Dnipro team.

"I told the guys that we would play with three defenders. They replied that they had never played in such a formation before, and they had never even had any training sessions like that. But given the selection of players we have, we took a chance and played three centre-backs. Given that this is only the first match, I am satisfied.

"Kolos also came to play to win, and every team playing against the vice-champion has a double desire to prove themselves. I am really pleased with the way the team played. The first half wasn't great, but after the break the team proved themselves. This means that the guys have strength, and in the last 30 minutes I liked the game.

Today's game was like that. The next one will be even harder. I repeat that each team has a double mindset towards the vice-champion of the country," Maksymov said after the match against Kolos.
