Everton responded by introducing Beto and Dominic Calvert-Lewin in an attempt to turn the situation in their favour. A well worked combination resulted in Leandro Trossard slotting the ball into the net to the rapturous cheers of the Arsenal fans. Despite Everton trying hard to get back into the game, the visitors held their nerve, showing exemplary defence. As the final whistle approached, both teams made tactical substitutions in an attempt to consolidate their positions. In the 80th minute, F. Vieira and O. Zinchenko came on for Arsenal, while Abdoulaye Doucoure and James Garner came on for Everton. In the final minutes of the match, both teams put their best foot forward to win, but in the end Arsenal won 1-0 and Everton fans were disappointed but proud of their team's valour. The match showed all the intensity and skill for which the Premier League is renowned and will always be remembered by the fans present at Goodison Park. In a fateful encounter between two giants of English football, Arsenal were triumphant and Everton showed their skill and determination.
