Ukrainian defender of Everton Vitaliy Mykolenko played a full match for his club for the first time in the season-2023/24.
The 24-year-old footballer came out in the starting lineup "toffees" for yesterday's match of the 5th round of the championship of England with London Arsenal and played without a substitute. We would like to add that another Ukrainian legionnaire took part in this meeting - defender Oleksandr Zinchenko. He also started the match from the first minutes, but at the end of the match he was replaced.
English Championship. 5th round
"Everton " - "Arsenal " - 0:1 (0:0)
Goal: Trossard (69)
"Everton": Pickford, Young (Patterson, 87), Tarkowski, Branthwaite, Mikolenko, Gueye, Doucoure (Garner, 80), Onana, Danjuma, Betu (Calvert-Lewin, 66), McNeil (Shermiti, 88).
"Arsenal": Raya, White, Gabriel, Saliba, Zinchenko (Tomiyasu, 80), Edegor, Rice, Fabio Vieira (Havertz, 80), Martinelli (Trossard, 24), Saka, Nketiah (Gabriel Jesus, 66).
Of the six matches of Everton this season Mikolenko spent four in the reserves, in one, although he came out from the first minute, but was replaced due to injury, and only in the meeting with Arsenal, he finally spent on the field all 90 minutes of the game.
Such a "bumpy" start to the season for Mikolenko is due to the injury, because of which he missed almost all the control matches of Everton during the summer off-season training. At the same time in the English League Cup game against Doncaster (30 August), the Ukrainian suffered another injury.
