Valery Gazzaev: "The USSR national team was among the leaders. It is simply impossible to do without Russia"

Former coach Valeriy Gazzaev, who by misunderstanding once headed Dynamo Kyiv, reacted nervously to the UEFA president's specific statement that Russia will be returned to the civilised football world only after the war with Ukraine is over.

- Ceferin's words have every reason, we have the right to take them seriously. Our country is in every sense a football powerhouse with its history of landmark victories and successes since the Soviet past. The USSR national team was among the leaders of the ranking. It is simply impossible to do without Russia's participation in world football life," Gazzaev is quoted by local propagandists as saying.
