However, Girona's attacking prowess took over and Savio scored a superb goal in the 57th minute to make the score 5-1. Both teams made a few substitutions to bring new energy into their squads. For Girona, Valeri and Porto came on in the 75th and 61st minutes respectively, while for Mallorca, Antonio Sanchez and Aritz Prats came on in the 78th minute. The changes were made to strengthen the defence and look for new attacking options. In the final stages of the game, Mallorca managed to score two goals. In the 89th minute, Aritz Prats scored a goal, giving his team hope, and in the final seconds of the game he struck again, making the score 5-3. In the end, Girona won a worthy victory, showing their skill in attack and their ability to realise chances. Mallorca, despite struggling, will have to regroup and analyse their defensive shortcomings. The exciting match between Girona and Mallorca was an example of the excitement and unpredictability of La Liga football.
