However, Getafe responded quickly, and in the 6th minute D. Suarez received a yellow card, unable to contain his irritation. As the first half progressed, the tension continued to rise, which led to a turning point in the 45th minute. О. Sunset, an Athletic player, received a red card, leaving his team with ten men on the pitch. With one player eliminated, Atletico had to enter the second half in an uphill struggle. The score at half-time was 1-0 in favour of Atletico, but Getafe wasted no time in taking advantage of their numerical advantage. In the 51st minute, G. Alvarez equalised with a beautiful strike and breathed new life into the match.
Atletico's disappointment was evident when G. Guruseta received a yellow card in the 58th minute. In the 62nd minute Atletico managed to regain the lead thanks to a brilliant goal by I. Williams, much to the delight of their fervent fans. However, the game was far from over, and both teams made several substitutions in an attempt to turn the game in their favour. In the 65th minute Getafe introduced H. Latas and O. Rodriguez into the game. Latas and O. Rodriguez, hoping to energise the attack. Athletic responded with substitutions, bringing on R. Garcia and D. Garcia. The constant influx of new players changed the dynamics of the match, creating goal-scoring opportunities. In the 83rd minute Getafe equalised again thanks to a goal by H. Latas. Latas. The excitement reached its peak when Getafe's F. Angileri received a yellow card a few moments after scoring. The last few minutes of the match were marked by a flurry of yellow cards as O. Rodriguez, Y. Alvarez, Genet and R. Garcia received disciplinary penalties. As neither team was able to achieve a winning goal, the match ended in a hard-fought draw - 2:2. The players demonstrated their skill, determination and resilience throughout the game, delighting the fans at the stadium and those watching from home. The result reflected an equal contest between Atletico and Getafe and left both teams with mixed emotions.
