Andriy Shevchenko, former forward and head coach of the Ukrainian national team, and now UNITED 24 ambassador, commented on his appointment as a freelance adviser to President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has appointed me as his freelance sports adviser. Given my experience, I see myself as useful in the process of negotiating the organisation of international sporting events with the participation of Ukraine and creating new events to support Ukraine.

The position of a freelance advisor is a continuation of the activities I have been carrying out for a year and a half as an ambassador of the UNITED24 fundraising platform.

Together with the UNITED24 team, we have raised millions of dollars to help Ukraine, held a number of charity events, including Game4Ukraine, a major football match at Stamford Bridge Stadium in London, where world football stars took part.

Most importantly, we have attracted a lot of attention to Ukraine, which we really need today. Preparations for the second football charity match have now begun.

During a full-scale war, we must use every opportunity and resource to deliver our powerful message and make our country's voice heard on the world stage. Sport is a great force that unites billions of people from all over the world.

We must do everything we can to encourage people to support Ukraine, and I will continue to do everything I can to do so," Shevchenko wrote on his Instagram page.
