"When we started the pre-season, I was told that it was impossible to develop the team and fight for a place in the top ten of the Premier League. And then we decided to part ways. I love all the club staff, all the players and, of course, the fans.
The management had their reasons, and I respect that. They set certain goals for the club. And I can decide what I want for myself. I'm not afraid to lose, but I came to the club with my own project. When the management accepted mine, they had to know my opinion on it. Our paths parted," The Athletic quoted Lopetegui as saying.
