New details of the scandalous Negreira case have emerged. During the investigation, the head of the Barcelona Investigative Court, Joaquin Aguirre, revealed new details that could negatively affect the future of the Catalan club, El Debate reports.
According to the source, Judge Aguirre found that after being dismissed from the position of vice-president of the technical committee of judges in mid-2018, Negreira wrote a threatening letter to Bartomeu, in which he promised that he would "reveal a number of facts that could seriously harm the club if he was not paid".
According to the judge, "it follows that Enriquez Negreira knew that quite serious illegal actions had been committed in favour of Barcelona".
"The Negreira case is Barcelona's accusation of bribery against José María Enrique Negreira, who served as vice president of the Spanish Football Federation's Technical Committee of Referees. From 2001 to 2018, Negreira received €7.3 million from the Catalans.
