It should be noted that in the previous rounds, the White and Blues won six victories and drew twice, so they had 20 points and ranked second in the standings. In the previous rounds, Oleksandriya won five times, drew once and suffered two defeats. Dynamo's opponent scored 16 points and was in 4th place in the standings.
The teams started the match actively and, after a short reconnaissance, switched to offensive action. Dynamo created the sharpest moments: first, Ponomarenko almost managed to close a flank shot, then the hosts almost scored after a corner kick, and the third attack by Kyiv led to a goal: After a pass from deep in the box, Osipenko played with Matkevych, giving him a spectacular heel pass, Andriy brought Kyrylo into the striking position, and he did not waste his moment, striking a well-aimed shot from 13-14 metres.
Later on, Dynamo continued to take the initiative and regularly threatened the visitors' possession, although the final shots on goal were inaccurate. Our team played the ball for a long time, moving it from flank to flank, and executed several standard positions, but it did not come to real threats. At the same time, the opponent did not bother Surkis too much.
At one point, the ball was miraculously kept out of the net when Tsarenko brought Ponomarenko to the goal with a great pass, but he sent the ball past the post. However, in that episode, an offside was recorded. A few minutes later, the hosts again had a chance to score: after a shot from the left by Dykyi, Ponomarenko hit the ball high from the goal line! Another promising shot was blocked by the opponent.
As often happens in such cases, Kyiv conceded their own chances without taking advantage of them: after a shot from the right, Komyshan hit the ball from the goal line, and the ball rolled into the goal from the post - 1: 1.
At the beginning of the second half, Oleksandriya took a dangerous free kick, but the ball flew over the top of the goal. There was a lot of fighting, collisions and, as a result, warnings on the pitch. Sometimes doctors had to come on the pitch to help the players. Among the dangerous moments, we recall the opportunity of Ponomarenko, who tried to close the canopy on the far post with his head, but he was a little unlucky, as well as a good breakthrough by Salenko, but he chose not the best option to continue the attack.
However, our guys still achieved their goal: after another attack, Ponomarenko and Salenko fought for the ball, and finally it ended up with Gusev, and Oleksiy shot straight into the far corner to put his team ahead.
Soon after, Matkevych took a promising free kick, but the Oleksandriya goalkeeper was able to eliminate the threat in a leap. Before the final whistle, our guys still had plenty of opportunities to score, including a weak shot by Ponomarenko, and the goalkeeper took the ball away, while Salenko failed to convert a one-on-one. But despite all our efforts, the final score did not change.
