"To be honest, leaving Italy was not part of my plans. "Juventus was my life. I thought I would continue my career there, but now I don't want to talk about Juventus. I was interested in getting out of my comfort zone, experiencing a new culture, language and way of life. I wanted to get this experience and I am now focused on it.

I must admit that it is very difficult to learn the language, and the way of life and even football is different here. In the Bundesliga, the teams are taller, so the defenders have to cover more space. When I first arrived, I told the coach that I needed 3-4 weeks to get back into shape - and now I'm close to it.

I spoke to Spalletti two weeks ago. He said that I will have to play a lot of games if I want to return to the national team. I know it will be difficult, but my main goal is to get a call-up to the Euros," Football Italia quoted Bonucci as saying.
