Shakhtar Donetsk have decided not to sack head coach Patrick van Leeuwen yet, despite the poor results the team is showing under his leadership (in the first nine rounds of the Ukrainian league, the Pitmen have already lost nine points, having drawn three times and lost once).

According to journalist Mikhail Spivakovsky on the YouTube channel TaToTake, after Shakhtar's 1-2 defeat to Vorskla in round 9 of the UPL, the club's president Rinat Akhmetov expressed dissatisfaction with what he had seen and expressed huge doubts about the prospects and meaning of van Leeuwen's tenure as head coach.

Nevertheless, according to the source, in the end, Shakhtar's management decided not to take any steps yet: now the issue of van Leeuwen's resignation is out of the question and Shakhtar are preparing for the next match under his leadership.
