Asian Champions League match cancelled because of a monument to an Iranian general erected near the football field (PHOTO)

The Asian Champions League match between Iran's Sepahan and Saudi Arabia's Al-Ittihad has been cancelled due to the visiting team's unwillingness to enter the field, near which a monument to Iranian General Suleimani, who was killed in 2020 in a U.S. Air Force strike, has been erected.

The Saudi government believes Suleimani was involved in terrorist attacks inside the country.

As a result, Al-Ittihad left the stadium back to the airport and returned home. This club will now be handed a technical defeat with a score of 0:3
