Former England striker Michael Owen has criticised Arsenal's Ukrainian defender Oleksandr Zinchenko following the results of the Champions League match against French side Lance (1:2). Note that the Ukrainian was directly involved in the game episode that led to the winning goal of this meeting (on the video below).
"In the situation with the winning goal of Lance, Zinchenko was constantly halfway to the position he should have been in, wasn't he?
He had to either accentuate his tackling or at least get close to the opponent (we are talking about Przemyslaw Frankowski, who eventually gave the goal - ed.) - something like that. And he, in fact, stayed where he was.
Zinchenko cannot allow himself to be bypassed so easily. He became somehow sluggish. In recent matches, he is often left out of position, it is not difficult for opponents to confuse him.
Perhaps this is due to Zinchenko's physical condition. In some episodes he looks as if tired," - quotes Owen Metro.
