Dynamo U-19 coach Ihor Kostiuk commented on his wards' match against Zhytomyr's Polissia, in which Kyiv lost 1-2:
- I feel disappointed in terms of fighting qualities and the quality of the game itself. Once again, we create chances, but we cannot finish them and deliver the ball to the end zone. The main thing is that we are making mistakes that should not be allowed. The opponent created three chances and scored twice.
- How difficult was it to adjust after the suspension?
- You saw that we played well, but at the end our strikers did not take their positions very well. We are working on these moments, but unfortunately, it didn't work today.
- Do you have any questions about the referee's decisions?
- Analysing the World Cup, in similar moments, the referees added 12-15 minutes. In our match, the players were lying down for two minutes, there were seven stoppages of play, there were substitutions. And only seven minutes were added. But that's not the main thing. We can say that there was a penalty on Ponomarenko. However, this is not what we should focus on. We need to emphasise our own game, our attitude and our implementation. This is the main thing.
- Did the early loss of Matkevich affect the course of the game?
- He is one of our leaders and key players. He has already been examined - he has a fracture. Of course, he plays actively, but today, I think, Kalyn also actively entered the game. In the end, he lacked a little bit of skill to complete the attack or make assists. In general, the whole team is to blame for today's defeat.
- Didn't you think that Ponomarenko overstayed his welcome or took a shot himself a few times when he could have passed to a partner who was in a better position?
- It did, but a striker has to be selfish. Yes, we say that if someone is in a better position, then you need to pass, but emotions were running high. In such situations, you had to handle the ball with a cool head.
