The match of the 2nd round of the Conference League between AZ and Legia Warsaw ended in a grandiose scandal.
According to the Meczyki portal, after the game Legia were not allowed out of the stadium for a long time, and later there was a scuffle in the car park near the bus. As a result, two Legia players - Josué and Radovan Pankov - were arrested. Both players spent the whole night in the police station.
It is known that after the incident, the Dutch police blocked Legia's bus at the stadium and threatened to storm it if Josué and Pankov did not come out themselves. The footballers were handcuffed and taken to the police station. In the course of the law enforcement guards even hit the president of Legia Dariusz Meduski, and several members of the Polish delegation were injured.
It is reported that the detained players were not released to Poland. "Legia" has already announced today a special press conference, during which the president of the Warsaw club will answer journalists' questions.
In turn, the Dutch portal Voetbalzone informs that the Legia representatives are to blame for the incident, as they injured one of the guards during the clash near the bus. The footballers were not allowed out and tried to break down the door. The man suffered concussion and a fractured elbow.
