In the central match of the 10th round of the Ukrainian championship, Polesie won a willful victory over Dynamo 3:2 and topped the standings. Defender Andriy Hytchenko told when he believed that the hosts would celebrate the victory:
- In my long career, there have been cases when a team, playing on the power play, conceded twice and lost. But I cannot but be happy that Polesie, being in the minority in a similar situation, forced the Ukrainian football grandee to capitulate, and it is important that it was not without my contribution.
- And yet, thanks to what factors "Polesie" tipped the scales in your favour?
- First of all, it should be said that we thoroughly studied the game of Dynamo, identified their strengths and weaknesses. Then everything depended on how we would use this information, although we were determined to win.
Dynamo started very well, but somewhere a quick goal of Buyalskiy calmed down the guests. This was soon taken advantage of by Krushinsky, who took Buschan by surprise with a long-range "shot". Boris has a strong shot, but he still has problems with his aim. Yesterday he hit the goalpost and opened the account of his goals for Polesie.
- When Dynamo took the lead again at the beginning of the second half, and soon Morozko was removed from the field, were you not afraid that you would be unlucky to escape defeat?
- No, because even in the minority "Polesie" continued to dictate the terms, and the guests, apparently, thought that they would not miss their own and relaxed. And they paid for it. When Budkovskiy levelled the situation, the hosts caught the courage and the goal scored by Kozak looked logical.
- Was your appearance on the pitch instead of Krushinsky caused by the desire of manager Yuriy Kalitvintsev to keep the winning score?
- Most likely. After Morozko's suspension, the hosts slightly reorganised: Krushinsky moved from the position of supporting midfielder to the right flank of the defence and somewhere his actions started to be affected by fatigue. This was the reason for his replacement. And although at the end of the match the guests made efforts to get back, we managed to hold out. I am convinced that Polesie deservedly defeated Dynamo and, as a reward, topped the standings.
- What did Yuriy Kalitvintsev say in the locker room after the final whistle?
- There were no dithyrambs. He simply congratulated us on the victory, said that we had done our job well and now the main thing is not to slow down.
