Former Shakhtar Donetsk and Ukraine international Andriy Vorobey shared his expectations for the upcoming matches of our main team and analysed the performance of its strikers with the UPL TV Telegram channel.
- We expect only two victories. Because in such matches, you simply cannot lose points. If we want to compete for the Euros, we must not only tune in to games with the giants like England and Italy, but also take maximum points with North Macedonia and Malta.
- How significant will the absence of both Tsygankov and Yarmolenko be for the national team?
- The absence of Tsygankov at the moment is a significant loss, because he is a leading player, he was in good shape at Girona. But Yarmolenko was not in such good shape, although he plays an important role at Dynamo, because he is an experienced and skilful player.
- Who will play in their position?
- It's hard to name names now, but the coach has a choice. The same Zubkov, if he is not injured, or Mudryk.
- As a striker, how would you assess the national team's attacking play in previous matches?
- There is only one way to evaluate a striker - goals scored and effective actions. At the moment, our attack may not be shining, but we have someone to believe in. Dovbyk is in good shape and I think he will play in the base by more than 1000%.
- What do you think of Yaremchuk ?
- If the coach doesn't play him for his previous achievements, he won't be on the pitch in these matches. Let Roman not be offended by me, but now he is not in a condition to play in the national team of Ukraine.
- There are still options for Vanat and Rusyn...
- I like the way Vanat plays at Dynamo. He scores, creates chances, and the team's play goes through him. This young player deserves to get a chance to play for the national team. I think we will see Dovbyk and Vanat on the pitch in the coming matches. Someone will play a little more time, someone less.
