"Sevilla has announced the appointment of Diego Alonso as head coach on its official website.

The contract with the 48-year-old specialist is valid until the end of the season. Alonso's previous job was with the Uruguayan national team, which he left after failing to qualify for the 2022 World Cup. Prior to that, he coached Inter Miami, Mexican Monterrey and Pachuca, Paraguayan Olympia and Guarani, and Uruguayan Peñarol.
