Vitaliy Roman: "Luxembourg could be a surprise"

A month ago, Ukraine's youth national team began its Euro 2025 qualifying campaign with a narrow 1-0 victory over Northern Ireland. Theonly goal in the second half was scored by Rukh Lviv defender Vitaliy Roman, who spoke toSuspilne.

On joining the youth national team:

"Defending the colours of my country is a great honour for me. I will help the team with everything I can."

On the goal against Northern Ireland:

"We played our last game with Minaj, drew 0-0 - the mood was not good. But when I came here, my mood certainly improved. I saw the guys, my partners - it added motivation."

About a month in the renewed youth team:

"You can feel it. When you first go out on the pitch with a new partner, it's always a misunderstanding. But when we play one or two games, it will be much easier for us, we will be much more well-coordinated."
