The Ukrainians immediately gained possession of the ball, but could not create chances for a long time. One can only recall Brazhko's free-kick, which the goalkeeper saved. Closer to the middle of the first half, our team began to disturb Latik more often. In the 30th minute, Bragaru missed from a great position, and soon the goalkeeper parried shots by Ocheretko and Brazko.
The Luxembourgers responded with a sharp attack of their own, when Gonçalves unsuccessfully closed the distance. In the 43rd minute, Rubchynskyi came close to scoring, but the hosts were saved by the post. Subsequently, Smolyakov made a dangerous free-kick, but the ball flew over the target. However, a moment later, the guests took the lead: after a throw-in from Brazhko from deep, Roman passed to Krasnopir, who pushed the ball into the net.
In the second half, Unai Melgosa's men also had the advantage. In the 54th minute, Smolyakov made a dangerous free-kick, and Yarmolyuk's shot was also dangerous. For a while, the hosts had the initiative, with Gonçalves scoring from a dangerous distance. However, in the 69th minute, the Ukrainians doubled their advantage - after Voloshin's pass, Vyunnyk, who had just appeared on the pitch, scored.
In the 82nd minute, Turping scored from outside the penalty area - the post came to Neshcheret's rescue. Luxembourg failed to win back at least a goal, and in stoppage time, Kvasnytsia scored the third goal of the Ukrainian national team from Viunnyk's pass. The result was 3-0 in favour of the visitors.
