The bosses of French side Paris Saint-Germain have decided on the main candidate to replace the club's leader Kylian Mbappe, L'Equipe reports.
According to the source, the Parisians are interested in signing Javi Simons. The 20-year-old has become one of the key players for Leipzig, where he is on loan this season, scoring three goals and providing four assists. The Red Bull-managed German club intends to extend his loan and eventually buy him.
However, Xavi Simons' future may be complicated by a contractual clause. According to L'Équipe, PSG will not be able to benefit financially if Simons moves in 2024, as the money from the deal will go to PSV in accordance with the previous agreement. This situation puts the Parisian club in a difficult position, as its sporting director Luis Campos sees Simons as the perfect replacement for Kylian Mbappe.
