However, the goal was cancelled due to offside, much to the relief of the Bulgarian team. At the end of the match, both teams made substitutions to freshen up the line-ups. In the 78th minute V. Slivka and E. Jankauskas appeared in the Lithuanian line-up. Jankauskas, and in the 79th minute S. Delev and G. Ivanov appeared for Bulgaria. Despite these late substitutions, neither team was able to change the final score. Lithuania won a convincing 2-0 victory over Bulgaria. This result shows the difficulties Bulgaria is facing in their fight to qualify for the European Championship. The match showed Lithuania's strength and ability to capitalise on their opportunities, while Bulgaria need to reflect on their game and regroup for future matches.
