The former Barcelona defender Dani Alves, who is currently in prison, is ready to meet the investigation and plead guilty to sexual rape, Mundo Deportivo reports.
According to the source, Dani Alves recently changed his lawyer and now the footballer's interests are represented by a well-known Catalan specialist, Ines Guardiola, who specialises in sexual assault. Dani Alves has now changed his tactics - previously, the Brazilian had consistently refused to admit his guilt, but now the Brazilian is ready to meet the investigation to receive a minimum sentence. At the moment, Alves is facing 8 to 10 years in prison.
Thus, Alves will have to pay material compensation to his victim, but the amount of compensation is still unknown. In addition, he will have to plead guilty to the crime, which will fundamentally contradict his five previous statements, in which he always assured that it was a consensual sexual act.
As a reminder, Dani Alves is suspected of raping a 23-year-old girl in a Barcelona club. The footballer initially gave false testimony, but later admitted that he had sexual relations with the girl. Joana Sanz, the footballer's wife, filed for divorce.
