Romania beat Andorra 4-0 in European Championship qualifying match In a long-awaited European Championship qualifying match, Romania faced Andorra at the famous Arena Naţională. The game demonstrated excellent skills and quality play of the Romanians, resulting in a convincing 4-0 victory for the hosts. From the very beginning, it was evident that Romania was in full control of the game. They dominated possession and created numerous chances. Andorra struggled to keep up with the pace of the game and resorted to fouls to stop Romania's attacks. The first yellow card of the match was shown to Andorra's M. Vieira in the 9th minute for a careless tackle. Soon after, Romanian R. Marin also received a yellow card for a similar offence. Andorra continued to show their displeasure with a series of fouls, resulting in yellow cards for A. Sanchez and M. San Nicolas in the 12th and 19th minutes respectively. The Romanians took advantage of their opponents' disciplinary offences and scored their first goal in the 23rd minute. N. Stanciu hit the opponents' goal with a powerful shot, which infuriated the spectators. Just five minutes later, I. Hagi doubled Romania's lead with a lucky strike, demonstrating his outstanding skill. Andorra's disappointment did not end with a goal. J. Rubio and M. Garcia received yellow cards in the 37th and 43rd minutes respectively, which added to the team's disciplinary problems.
The situation for Andorra worsened when Romania were awarded a penalty in the 44th minute, fouling R. Marin. Marin took the lead and coolly converted the penalty, giving Romania a comfortable 3-0 lead. The second half started with Romania making a substitution, replacing R. Dragusin with A. Rus in the 46th minute. This substitution did not break their rhythm, as in the 50th minute F. Coman scored a goal, increasing Romania's lead to an insurmountable 4-0. Both teams made several substitutions throughout the match, with Romania introducing A. Cicaldau and D. Alibek instead of R. Marin and I. Hagi in the 59th and 65th minutes respectively. Andorra also made changes, replacing J. Rubio, A. Sanchez and M. Garcia for E. de Pablos, V. Bernat and F. Pomares in the 64th and 86th minutes. As the game progressed, Andorra's discontent boiled over. In the 84th minute V. Bernat received a yellow card and in the 90th minute M. San Nicolas was suspended from the game. In the last minutes of the match, the Romanians thought they had managed to score a fifth goal, but it was cancelled due to offside. Another yellow card was given to Andorra player M. San Nicolas, in the 90th minute, before the referee showed a straight red card, reducing Andorra's squad to ten men. Overall Romania showed a dominant performance in this European Championship qualifying match against Andorra. From start to finish they controlled the game, scored goals and showed their skills. Andorra, on the other hand, struggled to keep up the pace of the game and often resorted to fouls. With the victory, Romania consolidated its position in the qualifying group and made its opponents realise that it is a force to be reckoned with.
