In the 30th minute, Spaniard Rodrigo Le Normand received a yellow card for a careless attack, and in the 31st minute, Norway's Ola Bobb followed suit. The physicality of the game continued to escalate and in the 40th minute, Norway's Jorgen Rierson was also cautioned with a yellow card. Spain made two substitutions at the start of the second half to give their line-up a boost. Le Normand replaced Diego Garcia and Ansu Fati replaced Mikel Oyarzabal. These substitutions proved to be very important for Spain as they began to dominate the Norwegian team with confidence. In the 49th minute, Spain finally found the long-awaited breakthrough as Gavi scored a magnificent goal.
The talented midfielder showcased his skill and precision play in front of goal, putting Spain into the lead. As the match progressed, the tension did not subside. Both teams continued to fight fiercely and yellow cards were given to Spain's Aymeric Laporte in the 56th minute and Morata in the 61st minute. The physicality of the game led to both sides making several substitutions to keep things fresh on the pitch. Norway released Filip Berg and Alexander Nous in the 58th minute, replacing Patrik Berg and Bobb. Spain made a third substitution in the 71st minute, bringing in Ferran Torres in place of Alfonso Pedraza.
