England head coach Gareth Southgate commented on his team's progress to Euro 2024.
"Firstly, I thought we played very well today. We were unfortunate to concede a goal, but we kept calm and got back into the game. In the second half, I think we played great. Not only in terms of the quality of our play and the way we controlled the ball, but also in terms of team discipline. Our wingers did an incredible job in defence.
As for the qualification, I think we came out of the most difficult group - Ukraine, Italy and England. From the very beginning, thanks to the victory in Naples and the match here against Ukraine, we have consistently performed well. I like working with this group of players, they are special.
Bellingham. He has a brilliant mindset, that's the main thing. In the end, it determines what you do in your life. We are lucky to have him. On a night like tonight, it's hard to single anyone out. I think we saw a very good Marcus Rashford, who worked tirelessly for the team. Phil Foden had one of his best nights for England. It was a really good game in all areas," Southgate was quoted as saying by UEFA's official website.
