Column by Serhiy Tyshchenko. It's time to become a real Yarmolenko

Dynamo leader and captain of the Ukrainian national team Andriy Yarmolenko has been injured. The player has already undergone surgery in Barcelona. According to preliminary data, the recovery process will take 4 months. I have seen the opinion of a sports doctor that Andriy will miss the rest of the season.

Be that as it may, Dynamo needed to think not only about how to replace their leader, but also who would play at right midfielder? Yarmolenko had no alternative.

I am very far from thinking that Oleksandr Karavayev will play in this position. Firstly, after a straight red card in Zhytomyr, he may be given a couple of matches of suspension. Secondly, Oleksandr Tymchyk is not stable and prone to injury, so we need another right-back. Thirdly, Karavaev has not played consistently in midfield for a long time. He can be an option for a couple of matches, but not in the long term.

That leaves Benito. It is very difficult to talk about any stability of the Nigerian. He has not played a single full season in Ukraine. In the spring, he received game practice as a right midfielder. He was not particularly impressive. In the summer, Mircea Lucescu made him a reserve forward. It will be difficult for Dynamo with only one striker. Vladyslav Vanat needs to be rotated, rested and replaced from time to time. It is not yet clear what position Lucescu is counting on Benito to play. The overall level of the 25-year-old player remains low.

In the youth teams, Nazar Voloshyn was called the "new Yarmolenko". For his good work with the ball, ability to move from the wing to the centre, and sense of goal. Even in the U-19, Nazar played as a right midfielder. Samba Diallo played on the opposite flank.

Now there is no other option than to transfer Voloshyn to the right wing and thus replace Yarmolenko. On the left flank, there are Vladyslav Kabaev and Samba Diallo. The former has already adapted a little to Lucescu's requirements and has extensive experience in the UPL. And the latter has been receiving large advances for years. This position can be filled somehow, but there are not enough players on the opposite flank. Modern football means that there is no need to be tied to one of the attacking flanks. A player should be equally able to act on the right or left.

I understand that Lucescu uses inverted wingers. That is, a left-footed player plays on the right wing and vice versa. But now is the time when there is simply no choice.

In the youth team, Andrii Matkevych suffered a serious injury in a match against Polissia and was out for a month. Dmytro Kremchanin was involved in a scandal not long ago. Kyrylo Pashko and Vladyslav Kalyn are not yet mainstays at the U-19 level. Therefore, there is no need to expect reinforcements from the youth team.

For Voloshyn himself, it's time to grow up. He is no longer just one of the club's top talents, but a player who must take responsibility and become one of the team's leaders.

"Интегрированных вингеров"? Инвертированных, знаток. О профнепригодности "журналиста" мы и до того знали, да. Серёжа, учите... да хоть что-то учите. Не кого-то, а что-то. Это не одно и то же.
