Following a thorough assessment of the current security situation throughout Israel, the UEFA Executive Committee has decided that matches of UEFA tournaments will not be played in Israel until further notice.

The Israeli Football Association and its clubs Maccabi Haifa and Maccabi Tel Aviv have been asked to find alternative venues/stadiums outside the country to host their home matches, which will be used as long as this decision remains in force," the UEFA official website reports.

It should be added that the match between Maccabi Tel Aviv and Zorya Luhansk was scheduled to take place on 26 October. However, the match was postponed indefinitely.

As a reminder, Hamas's attack on Israel began on 7 October 2023 at around 6:30 a.m. local time with a massive rocket attack from Gaza and the armed forces' invasion of the country. The attack killed many Israelis, mostly civilians, and foreigners. The Israeli government declared a state of emergency and launched retaliatory rocket attacks on the Gaza Strip.
