On Sunday, 22 October, in the 11th round of the Ukrainian championship, Dynamo Kyiv will host Dnipro-1 SC from Dnipro. The game will kick off at 17:00 and will take place at the Dynamo Kyiv Stadium named after V. Lobanovsky.
This will be the ninth meeting between the clubs in history. "Dnipro-1 was founded in 2017, and since then the club has played Dynamo seven times in the UPL. Another meeting between the clubs took place in the Ukrainian Cup.
There are not many current players of both teams who have scored goals against each other from the banks of the Dnipro River. Among Dynamo's players, Volodymyr Shepelev (in the Ukrainian Cup) and Vitalii Buyalskyi (in the second round of the last championship) scored once for Dnipro-1. In addition, Dynamo forward Vladyslav Supryaha scored three goals for the White and Blues during his time with Dnipro-1. He scored a hat-trick in the 2019/2020 season, with Dnipro-1 defeating Kyiv 3-1 in that match.
Among the current players of the Dnipro team, Ihor Kohut has once scored against Kyiv, in a cup match in the 2017/2018 season. As well as Eduard Sarapiy, Valentyn Rubchynskyi and Oleksandr Pikhalonok, who scored once each in the Ukrainian league last season. There are also those who scored in the Kyiv goal while defending the colours of other clubs.
For example, striker Oleksandr Filipov scored two goals for our team in the 2019/2020 season while playing for Desna Chernihiv. He scored in both the first and second round matches. Maksym Tretyakov scored one goal in the 2019/2020 season while playing for Oleksandriya, and Oleksandr Kaplienko scored another in the 2014/2015 season when he was defending the colours of Metalurh Zaporizhzhia.
