Lithuanian national team midfielder: "A fine from UEFA for 'Putin's f*ck'? Keep chanting, we will pay from bonuses if necessary"

Lithuanian midfielder Justas Lasickas reacted to the news of a fine from UEFA for the behaviour of fans at a Euro 2024 qualifying match who chanted "Putin is a f*ck".

UEFA fined the Lithuanian Football Federation 10,000 euros for the chant about Putin, but Lithuanian midfielder Lasickas urged fans to keep chanting.

"Keep chanting, we will pay from the bonuses if necessary," Lasickas wrote on his Instagram page.

Interestingly, Lasickas later confirmed his words in a commentary to sportas.lt: "I did not consult anyone about this. It was more of a joke, because obviously the situation is absurd. I cannot speak for everyone, but I think it would not be a shame to give my bonuses to a good cause."
