Today in Vaduz, Ukraine met Germany as the group leader, and a draw was enough for Volodymyr Yezerskyi's men to reach the next round of qualifying.
The first half was dominated by the Germans, who scored several times - in particular, Izekor, Onyeka, Sauck. And Stange even scored a goal, but the referee rightly disallowed it because of offside. After the break, the Bundestim increased the pressure and in the 53rd minute achieved their goal - after Cerny's flanker, Isekor scored with an accurate header. He also threatened Petrenko's goal three more times. The Ukrainians tried to counterattack, but unfortunately, this did not bring success. The Germans controlled the course of the match, eventually won and took first place in the group.
As for the Ukrainian national team, its fate, if Finland beats Liechtenstein in the evening, will be decided in a few weeks when the mini-tournaments in other groups are completed. Among the third teams, the top five out of 13 will advance, and with one gold point and a goal difference of 2-3, the blue and yellows can claim one of the tickets to the elite qualifying rounds.
