In the 36th minute, S. March received a yellow card for Brighton, and another two minutes later, Manchester City's Rhodri received a caution.

The second half started with Brighton making two substitutions: J. Milner and J.J. Wright came on. These substitutions energised the team's game and they began to strive for victory.
