Newcastle and Italy midfielder Sandro Tonali has been officially banned for 10 months for betting.
The Italian Football Federation has announced that Tonali has been banned for 10 months in connection with illegal betting. The Italian national team player will also undergo an 8-month treatment course for gambling addiction.
Thus, even if the Italian national team qualifies for Euro 2024, Tonali will miss the upcoming tournament, which will take place in June-July next year in Germany.
It will be recalled that the Italians are the main competitors of the Ukrainian national team in the fight for second place in the group, which will qualify for the European Championship. The decisive match will take place on 20 November in Leverkusen.
