In the course of the first half, Freiburg found themselves in an offside position on 39 minutes, which led to the cancellation of the goal. Despite this setback, the German team did not lose concentration and continued to push for an equal score. In the final minutes of the first half, Freiburg made another substitution - M. Philipp replaced M. Gregoric. This tactical move was aimed at strengthening the attack before going into the break. The second half started with Freiburg gaining an advantage thanks to a penalty in the 49th minute. V. Grifo, the hero of the match, converted the penalty and levelled the score. This goal was a turning point in Freiburg's game and they began to dominate the game. In the 59th minute, Grifo struck again, this time with a beautiful goal, putting Freiburg ahead.
TSC Bacca Topola had no answer to this goal and seemed to be overwhelmed by their opponent's attacking prowess. As TSC Bačka Topola tried to regain the lead in the match, they were hit with a yellow card in the 60th minute. M. Cvetkovic was suspended from the pitch, which further aggravated the hosts' situation. To shake things up, TSC Bačka Topola made their first substitution in the 68th minute, bringing on M. Vulić instead of M. Pantović. However, the hopes of a comeback victory were not fulfilled when Freiburg increased their lead in the 73rd minute thanks to Grifo's hat-trick. In the last minutes of the game the players of TSC "Bachka Topola" J. Vlalukin and J. Sildillia were warned. Vlalukin and J. Kalušić, as well as Freiburg player P. Linhart. After the final whistle, Freiburg won a confident 3:1 victory over TSC Bačka Topola. This result ensured Freiburg a positive start in the UEFA Europa League and emphasised the strength of German football on the European stage. TSC Bacca Topola, on the other hand, need to regroup and analyse their actions before the upcoming matches.
