Conflicts broke out as the match progressed and in the 56th minute K. Khairizi of Lugano was yellow carded. Both teams fought hard, but their efforts did little to change the course of the game. In the 74th minute, Lugano still managed to break through Club Brugge KV's defence, thanks to a spectacular goal by S. Vladi. The stadium erupted in cheers as Vladi's clinical strike revived Lugano's hopes of a comeback goal. However, Club Brugge KV maintained their composure and determination. In the 87th minute, Hans Vanaken sealed the victory with a sensational goal, leaving the Lugano defence stunned and the scoreboard at 1:3. The match ended with a yellow card for F. Jutgl in the last minutes of the game. It was a hard fought game, but in the end Club Brugge KV emerged victorious in this UEFA Europa Conference League encounter.
