An interception plan involving police and military forces was announced in Colombia, which led to the kidnappers' trail being followed and the footballer's mother being rescued. Subsequently, the footballer's father was also rescued after a shootout in which two people were killed.
Due to this incident, Diaz will not help Liverpool in the match against Nottingham Forest today.
