Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville criticised Anthony after Newcastle's 0-3 FA Cup exit.
"It's hard to judge any player in this team now, because I've seen them play at the highest level in other clubs. I would not pay £90 million for Anthony. And no club would. But this is Manchester United, and that's what they've been doing for the last 10 years, overpaying.
To be honest, Ajax couldn't believe that they were offering that kind of money for Anthony. He had no plans to enter the transfer market because he had sold Lisandro Martinez for £50 million and got his money. He agreed to sell Anthony because he couldn't believe his eyes," Neville was quoted as saying by Metro.
