Oleg Matveyev: "This is not the team Dynamo should have"

Former Shakhtar Donetsk footballer Oleg Matveyev shared his impressions of his former team's 1-0 win over Dynamo Kyiv in the 13th round of the Ukrainian Premier League in an interview with UPL TV.

- There were two different halves. "In the first half, Dynamo played better, more aggressively, and had chances. "Shakhtar were more passive. And after the break, the Miners definitely outplayed the Kyiv team. They scored and could have scored 3-4 goals. Sikan and Kryskiv had good chances. Dynamo, apart from Karavayev's moment at the end, had nothing special.

- Why was Shakhtar passive in the first half?

- In general, they played as usual - they controlled the ball more in the deep end, but there was no aggression up front, they were in no hurry.

- Which of the players can you mention?

- I liked Zubkov and Stepanenko. Zubkov was the main sharpness, and Taras made a lot of tackles, especially in the second half. But Sudakov made a lot of mistakes.

- What can you say about Dynamo?

- In the first half, they looked interesting, created a lot of chances. I won't mention anyone personally. In general, Dynamo is surprising - it's not the team Dynamo should have at the moment.

- What conclusions can be drawn from Shakhtar's three matches under Pushich?

- I would not say that something has changed dramatically. Basically, they play as usual - they don't shoot anywhere, they control the ball through short and medium passes and occasionally make quick exits from defence.
