Dallinga failed to convert the penalty, missing a valuable chance. The tension in the match grew and in the 45th minute N. Schmidt from Toulouse also received a yellow card. However, in the 51st minute, Toulouse took the lead when T. Dallinga finally hit the goalpost, atoning for the missed penalty. The match continued to see numerous substitutions as both teams tried to turn the game in their favour.
In the 63rd minute, Toulouse's L. Costa was replaced by M. Diarra. Le Havre quickly followed suit with three substitutions, with N. Alioui replacing Y. Kehta, J. Casimir replacing E. Sabbi, and S. Grandier replacing A. Djourou in the 68th minute. Toulouse also made two substitutions in the 72nd minute, with T. Dallinga and N. Schmidt replacing Y. Begraoui and V. Sierro respectively. Time was running out and in the 78th minute Le Havre equalised thanks to a goal by M. Baillot, which created a tense and nervous atmosphere. However, the most decisive moment of the match happened simultaneously: in the 90th minute Le Havre scored the winning goal thanks to M. Bayo's second goal. At the final whistle, Le Havre emerged victorious with the score 2:1 in favour of Toulouse. The match was held on a wave of emotions: missed penalties, yellow cards, late winning goal. Fans at the stadium "Toulouse" witnessed a tense struggle between two teams fighting for victory in Ligue 1.
