Terrier instead of D. Douet and L. Blas instead of A. Calimuendo. These substitutions gave the team new strength and gave them hope that they could equalise. Nice quickly reacted to the substitution of Rennes players, making their own changes in the 63rd minute. J. Laborde replaced E. Guessan, which allowed them to strengthen their attacking options and consolidate the advantage on the scoreboard. In the 68th minute, A. Truffet received a yellow card during a tense struggle, which further emphasised the physical power and passion of both teams. However, on 74 minutes, Nice's Y. Ndaishimiye received a red card, which allowed Nice to stay ten men and turn the tide of the game.
"Rennes, wanting to take advantage of the numerical advantage, made another substitution in the 78th minute, replacing E. Le Feu with B. Yildirim. This move was aimed at utilising the space created by Nice's reduction in numbers and finding a way back into the game. In the 80th minute, Nice made two substitutions, with J. Boga replacing R. Perrault and T. Moffi replacing S. Diop. In addition, K. Thuram replaced M. Sanson, adding fresh players to the midfield and attack, which allowed to continue the pressure on the Rennes defence. As a result of chaotic developments, Rennes also found themselves ten men down, as V. Omari received a red card in the 85th minute. In the 87th minute, an unfortunate goal by S. Mandanda, scored by a player of the match. Mandanda, scored by a Nice player, further consolidated the team's superiority, destroying Rennes' hopes of a dramatic comeback. This goal was even more frustrating for Rennes, as there was only a little time left until the end of the match, and Rennes made one last substitution, replacing N. Matic with B. Matic. Matic for B. Santamaria. However, it was too late: Nice managed to hold on to their lead until the final whistle and take a well-deserved victory over their opponents. The match demonstrated the competitive nature of Ligue 1 and the passion of both teams. Nice's victory will undoubtedly give them confidence and allow them to move up the table, while Rennes will have to regroup and analyse their performance in the hope that they will be stronger in the next match.
