Former Dynamo captain Serhiy Sydorchuk commented on Mircea Lucescu's resignation.
"For several days now, I have been in a stupor over the news that Mircea Lucescu has resigned as head coach of Dynamo. I was thinking about thanking Mircea publicly. I couldn't help but do so because he is an important person to me and my family. More than a coach.
He opened up a new perspective on football for me, taught me to see details that I hadn't thought about before, and made me think about life after my career. He showed me by his example how to love what you do. I can't imagine him not playing football, because this is his life. Who else would sit and watch matches, looking for their mistakes. Yes, this is a person who is always looking for mistakes in himself, not in others. Many people miss this very much.
I'll never forget how Mister met my family in Bucharest when we needed shelter after the full-scale invasion began. He and his wife were very kind to us, we saw each other almost every day, we talked - it was very important and valuable for us. They say that in dark times, you can see bright people. As for Mircea, it was exactly like that. When he was in hospital, of course, I was there for him.
I'm sure that Mircea deserved to finish his career in Ukrainian football on a more upbeat note, as a champion and with a cup in his hands. But this is life, this is football. He knows what he is doing and at what time. It is a pity that many people do not understand his philosophy and approach. I'd like to ask you to refrain from negative comments if you feel like writing them.
This is a post of my great respect and gratitude. Thank you for everything," Sydorchuk wrote on his Instagram page.
