In the final phase of the match both teams made fundamental changes in the line-ups. In the 71st minute, Alexandria's Geovani came on in place of Juan Alvina, bringing a fresh attacking force to the game.
Soon after, on the 72nd minute, Dnipro-1 player E. Sarapiy received a yellow card, reflecting the growing heat of the match. In the 80th minute D. Skorko, a player of Oleksandriya, was warned with a yellow card, who increasingly sought to equalise the score. With ten minutes remaining, Dnipro-1 made the first substitution of the match, bringing on O. Filippov and introducing Vitinho to maintain their advantage. The tactical substitution was aimed at strengthening the midfield and ensuring the reliability of the defence in the closing stages of the game. In the 84th minute, Alexandria made the last substitution, bringing on A. Shulyanskyi instead of Y. Bazayev. This substitution should have given an additional boost of energy and, perhaps, created an opportunity for a late goal. However, Dnipro-1's defence stood firm, preventing Alexandria's last attempts. In the last minutes of the game Dnipro-1 made the second substitution: B. Lednev came on instead of E. Purita. The tactical move was aimed at adding fresh energy to the attack and, possibly, scoring the second goal in the opponent's goal. As a result, neither team managed to change the score in the match after the first goal. Dnipro 1's 1-0 win over Oleksandriya demonstrated their ability to keep a solid defence and convert chances.
