Former Ukraine national team coach and Dynamo forward Andriy Shevchenko has assessed the influence of Valeriy Lobanovsky on modern football.
- Lobanovsky's influence on modern football is enormous. It's not just his tactical ideas, he was the first coach to use data. He managed a database at Dynamo Kyiv that contained performance statistics and more. Lobanovsky was a pioneer of video analysis. He built a whole system, tested his players and recorded their play - speed, endurance, reaction. This methodology was revolutionary," Shevchenko told Football Italia.
