Raheem Sterling again fails to get call-up to England squad

England head coach Gareth Southgate has announced the names of 25 players called up to the national team for the final two matches in the Euro 2024 qualifiers.

England have already qualified for next summer's tournament in Germany, so the matches against Malta on 17 November and North Macedonia on 20 November look like a formality. Despite this, Chelsea winger Raheem Sterling was not included in the team's application for the fifth time in a row.

The composition of the national team of England:

Goalkeepers: Sam Johnston (Crystal Palace), Jordan Pickford (Everton), Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal).

Defenders: Levi Colville (Chelsea), Lewis Dunk (Brighton), Mark Gehee (Crystal Palace), Harry Maguire (Manchester United), Kyle Walker (Manchester City), Kieran Trippier (Newcastle), Fikayo Tomori (AC Milan).

Midfielders: Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Jude Bellingham (Real Madrid), Conor Gallagher (Chelsea), Jordan Henderson (Al Ittifaq), Calvin Phillips (Manchester City), Declan Rice (Arsenal).

Forwards: Jarred Bowen (West Ham), Phil Foden, Jack Grealish (both Manchester City), James Maddison (Tottenham), Harry Kane (Bayern Munich), Marcus Rashford (Manchester United), Bukayo Saka (Arsenal), Ollie Watkins (Aston Villa), Callum Wilson (Newcastle).
