AC Milan head coach Stefano Pioli commented on the result of the 12th round of the Italian league match against Lecce (2:2). The Rossoneri had to leave the field early due to injuries to team leaders Rafael Leau and Davide Calabria.
"It's true that we have a lot of muscle injuries, and I honestly can't find an explanation for it. At the moment, it can't be just bad luck. Playing so often, the level of physical and psychological stress increases and it can affect the players," Pioli was quoted as saying by Football Italia.
This season, AC Milan players have suffered a total of 22 injuries of varying severity, 16 of which were muscle injuries.
