With Rooney's arrival at Birmingham, the team dropped from 6th to 18th place in the Premier League

Birmingham head coach Wayne Rooney commented on the 1-3 defeat to Sunderland in the English Premier League match on Matchday 16.

"We played against very good teams. In the first two games, we were not prepared enough, but then we, of course, tried to convey a lot to the players, changed a lot.

In the last three games, there were positive moments, I saw progress. But, of course, we need to improve the results, and I'm sure it will happen," the club's press service quoted the 38-year-old as saying.

With Rooney's arrival at the helm of Birmingham, the team dropped from 6th place in the standings to 18th. The appointment of the new coach was announced on 11 October.
