"To be honest, it happened quickly. I spoke to Chelsea representatives, I spoke to my father, but I didn't fully understand what to do. I pondered for a few days, thinking about it almost every minute. But then I just realised that for the sake of my career, I had to move on and try to find regular game practice.

It was a hard step for me. I've never left Manchester, not even for a loan or anything like that, so moving here is a big deal for me. It was difficult at first, living in a hotel and all that, but now I've settled in and I'm enjoying it. Who knows what would have happened if I had stayed. Maybe I would have played more. Maybe not. But I think so far my decision to join Chelsea has paid off," The Independent quoted the 21-year-old as saying.

It is worth noting that Palmer has gained a foothold in the Chelsea first team, which led to the player's call-up to the England national team.
