However, at the end of the match Israel took advantage of a mistake in the Swiss defence. S. Weissman, who came off the bench in the 81st minute, immediately scored an equaliser. Weissman immediately distinguished himself by scoring the equalising goal in the 89th minute. This goal breathed new life into the game and rewarded Israel for their persistence throughout the match. In the final minutes of the game, Switzerland's frustration translated into a series of yellow and red cards. In the 90th minute, K. Seesiger, R. Steffen and M. Akandji received warnings, but the most serious blow came from E. Fernandes, who received a red card, leaving Switzerland with ten men. After the final whistle, both teams were left pondering what could have been. Israel showed tremendous resilience, managing to come back and salvage a draw, while Switzerland will be disappointed that they were unable to hold on to their lead. This result will have implications for European Championship qualification and could determine which team goes into the tournament. Both Israel and Switzerland need to regroup and analyse their performances in order to continue to fight for the main prize - a place at the European Championships.
